John Anthony is set to release his first bit of new music of the 2024 year this Friday!

“Turn Loose” is set to release this Friday, March 29th, along with a music video. The announcement was made earlier today on John Anthony’s Instagram, with a teaser of the song in a graphic post. The single will be the first new bit of music from John Anthony this year.

The speculation is that “Turn Loose” will be the first single off an anticipated and forthcoming seventh studio album by John Anthony in the next few months.

John Anthony's sixth studio album Success Story celebrates it's one-year anniversary today.

On March 24, 2023, John Anthony released his most anticipated album to date with Success Story -- an all boom bap album with a classic, retro-throwback to the 1950's themes. The album featured hit songs such as the singles from the project including "Montana" and "IDFWY", along with popular tracks like "Vilified" and "Dangerous".

The “Scary Season: LIVE” concert is being rescheduled.

John Anthony, J Mont and Frizz’s upcoming concert in their hometown of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania is being rescheduled to a different date. Previously announced to be on Saturday, June 8, the concert will now be pushed a week later to the following Saturday, June 15.

The artists announced on their Instagrams and stated the tickets are still on sale. The date error on the ticket will still read the previous date, but the artists told their fans to ignore that date.

John Anthony, J Mont and Frizz set to return to the stage for “Scary Season: LIVE”.

It’s been just over three months since John Anthony and J Mont shared the stage, along Frizz, for the “Heroes 2 Villains: LIVE in Concert” show in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Now the trio will hit the stage again for their sequel concert entitled “Scary Season: LIVE” featuring all three artists as the main headliners.

The concert will be held at The River Street Jazz Cafe on Saturday, June 8, in their hometown of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and will be a two-hour show, starting at 9:00pm and ending around 11:00pm. The show’s setlist has not yet been confirmed but is expected to be released as a Spotify Playlist in early May.

Tickets will be sold via Eventbrite and on our official Store catalog and will be shipped and delivered within a week or so from purchase. Limited tickets will be sold by each artist.

Announcing via his Instagram Story, John Anthony will have a short performance in this years upcoming Independent Artist Showcase presented by Concert Crave. The show will be held in Philadelphia, PA on Sunday, February  4th at The Fallser Club.

Villainology, Vol. 5 is officially out now!

John Anthony has finally released his fifth installment of the annual mixtape series Villainology! The mixtape was originally set to release on December 1st as per annual first Friday of December release, but John Anthony took to Twitter to address the albums delay was in part due to the “Heroes 2 Villains” Concert on December 8th being a very important and anticipated show. You can read up on the story here on our previous news article.

The new mixtape features ten songs, with multiple remix tracks to unreleased songs from John Anthony’s album Success Story, that was released earlier this year. The remixes on this mixtape are to the form of some classic tracks from some classic artists, such as remixes to Eminem’s “Cleanin’ Out My Closet” and “Renegade” with J Mont, to yet another 50 Cent remix in the form of “Wanksta”  — which is the third remix John Anthony has made from 50 Cent’s album Get Rich or Die Tryin’.

John Anthony and J Mont's Heroes 2 Villains concert has officially ended.

John Anthony took to X today to announce he will be rescheduling the upcoming "Villainology Vol. 5" mixtape.

Since 2019, John Anthony has released his annual compilation mixtape entitled "Villainology" every first Friday of December on free streaming platforms. Currently, he has released four mixtapes since then (Volume 1, 2, 3 and 4) with Volume 5 originally assumed to release today, Friday, December 1st. However, there was no announcement of the mixtape to come eariler in the week and when midnight struck on eastern time on Friday the 1st, fans came to notice there was no release of the fifth installment of the mixtape.

John Anthony later took to X (Twitter) to publically address this issue. He states in his tweet: 

#Villainology Volume 5 is still coming. Usually it would release today but due to the anticipation surrounding the H2V concert next Friday, I decided to put the mixtape on hold. Expect Vol. 5 to drop on a Friday this December.

He also would add the official artwork for Volume 5 attached to the tweet. With the Heroes 2 Villains Concert next Friday the 8th, we can expect Villainology Vol. 5 to release on either one of the three Friday's that follows: Friday December 15, Friday December 22, or Friday December 29.

John Anthony and J Mont's anticipated show is a week away and you can now stream the setlist today!

The setlist for the song that will be performed are now available to stream on playlist on Spotify, AudioMack and YouTube. The setlist only features partial tracks, meaning there are a coupe of songs that aren't added to the playlists but will be surprise performances. 

The show will be held at The Sherman Theaters independent venue The Sherman Showcase in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Doors will open at 7pm and the main act show will start at 8pm EST.

It’s been one week since John Anthony and J Mont have released their collaboration album Heroes 2 Villains.  Now the two have officially announced they will be hosting a LIVE Heroes 2 Villains concert on December 8th this year, along with special guesting opener, Frizz, joining the duo on stage. The two will be preforming songs from their recently released album, along with other collaboration tracks from the past few years and even some solo song from each artist.

John Anthony and J Mont announce their releasing a new album together “Heroes 2 Villains”.

The dynamic duo of John Anthony and J Mont are back again. Just under a month from the release of their popular hit single “Give It To Ya”, the two are set to release more music together under an official album entitled “Heroes 2 Villains” and expected to release October 13th.

Since the beginning of the year, we have been hearing rumors and speculation surrounding the possibility of a duo album between the two. John Anthony and J Mont both addressed the rumors in their own interviews this year, with J Mont basically saying something is coming. Villainous Records social media has teased the two collating on a full album a few times.

John Anthony & J Mont’s new single “Give It To Ya” has officially reached streamers.

Their new hit single “Give It To Ya” captures a perfect combination of classic nostalgia with samples from the 2009 hit single “Sugar” by rapper Flo Fida, along with developing a well-popular, mainstream sound and vibe.

“Give It To Ya” will be the newest single releasing from John Anthony and J Mont this Friday, September 15th. The single will be the duo’s 3rd song released together this year, and 7th song all-time.

The song will be the duo’s first single released together, as all other collaboration songs between the two rappers were features on each artist’s respected albums. The single almost but certainly confirms the two artists releasing their reported new duo album in the next few months. The duo album was first teased back in March earlier this year when John Anthony appeared in an interview stating himself and J Mont was “working on something special”. J Mont later stated in his own interview that he was working on an album with John Anthony, but never confirmed or denied if it was a duo album or a solo J Mont album, with features and/or production from John Anthony.

Time will only tell what’s to Coe from the dynamic duo, but for now, we can enjoy new music as “Give It To Ya” is set to release everywhere on streamers this Friday!

J Mont took to Instagram to announce his second studio album "Mont Rushmore"!

The album will be released on August 11, 2023, through Villainous Records and Chaos Music Distribution. The production will be largely enhanced by John Anthony and Robin Tabacca through the mixing and mastering. The cover showcases an illustrated artwork of Mount Rushmore, however, with J Mont's faces throughout his life. The album features John Anthony and Vidal Garica as musical guests and Robin Tabacca as a producer feature to two of the songs from the album. The album features eleven songs, combined of a trap and boom-bap sound. 

John Anthony receives yet another gold record for his music.

John Anthony has earned a commemorative gold record plaque for his 2022 hit singe Hustlin’ for reaching over 50,000 streams on Spotify. The song released exactly one year ago today. Villainous Records released on their Instagram and Twitter a picture of John Anthony holding the newly earned plaque.

A new online John Anthony article interview has surfaced, along with a new photoshoot.

We finally got our first look at the artwork for John Anthony’s newest album “Success Story”. The artwork gives off a retro look, with a grainy, black and white vibe, symbolizing a more 1950’s look. We see John Anthony sitting at a table, what looks to be inside a diner, wearing a button up suit, with a vest and tie. On the table, we can a gun, cigar and glass in hand. The lighting and feel of this cover is undeniably vintage, leading us to finally connect the dots with the pre-cryptic posts John Anthony has been leading us onto for the past few months.

The artwork was shot at Posh restaurant in Scranton, PA by Zack and Josh of Brand Name Records, who are associated in the creation of “Success Story”.

There will be 20 tracks on the album. Pre-ordering is available now.

It’s finally here! A new John Anthony album is under way!

John Anthony finally announces his newest album — Success Story — set to release March 24th. For a few weeks now, there has been several cryptic teases about a new album, from Instagram stories, to captions, to even a specific date posted on the front page of John Anthony’s website with no explanation. Well now that date is explained with the  announcement of John’s new album.

This will be John Anthony’s 6th studio album under Villainous Records, and 17th project of his whole career.

John Anthony and Villainous Records signs new producer to the roster.

Villainous Records has announced that they have added a new producer to the roster. Independent record producer Robin Tabacca has signed on with John Anthony’s label and Chaos Music Group. He now joins J Mont and John Anthony as exclusive acts signed to the label, while other acts such as BIG 50 and Kwame Locks are signed as non-exclusive acts.

All of Robin Tabacca’s discography will be released on streaming services on January 25th, including the 2021 songs  “On My Own” and “ When Two Worlds Collide”, which feature John Anthony.

Originally scrapped music video — Superhype — from the album Villaination!, has officially dropped!

Villainous Records announced the release of yet another music video from John Anthony’s latest album — Villaination!. The music video was originally planned to be released back in March of 2022, but would later be delayed. Rumor was, the music video was then expected to be released on September 30th, as part of an expanded version to Villaination!, but neither ever materialized. Now, we officially have the music released released publicly by VEVO and Villainous Records.

The song — Superhype — has grown as one of Villaination! top songs. Next month will be 1-year since the release of Villaination! and we still are receiving more marketing on the project. This will be the 4th song on this album to receive a music video.

A couple months ago, John Anthony posted a new photoshoot on his Instagram with the caption "Can I take you back for a minute? #twinflame". This speculated the idea of The Therapy LP 2 possible coming, as the caption in the Instagram post was lyrics from "Time Will Heal". However, Discogs.com recently confirmed there was another brand new studio album by John Anthony set to release this year entitled "Twin Flame". The album was set for release later this year, but it is now being reported those plans have been scrapped and the album will ultimately be unreleased. The project was reported to have been a sequel to the 2020 mixtape Ride or Die and was scrapped for unknown reasons.

John Anthony has released Volume 4 of the annual Villainology mixtapes!

The annual mixtape series from John Anthony — Villainology — has officially dropped. This is the forth installment of this mixtape and features fourteen songs; six remix tracks and one unreleased song, from the 2022 album Villaination!.

The Villainology Series is an annual John Anthony mixtape, under Villainous Records, that drops every year on the first Friday of December. It features unreleased music, both remix songs and scrapped songs that were from albums or set as singles earlier in the year that never released. With the new volume here, there are now four mixtapes released; Volume 1, which released in 2019, Volume 2, which released in 2020, Volume 3 releasing last year in 2021 and now Volume 4 in 2022.

There was a strong belief and consideration that there wasn’t going to be a new Villainology series this year, but that clearly changed. It was confirmed today on John Anthony’s Instagram story and later on Villainous Records Instagram.

The Villainology Series is only streamed on a handful of streamers. Apple Music, Spotify, etc. won’t feature any of the mixtapes. The series is only available on SoundCloud, YouTube, BandCamp, AudioMack, MyMixtapez and SoundClick. Volume 4 is featured on all those platforms except for AudioMack. Volume 1,2 & 3, however, is available on there.

Villaination! is just over 7 and a half months old now and in that time, the album has had strong success through both sales and streaming. Enough so that almost 8 months later, Villaination! has received a commemorative gold plaque award in honor of the album reaching over 100,000 streams. This being the first album by John Anthony that has reached this accomplishment. Last year, John Anthony received his first commemorative plaque for his album — Words Are Weapons. This being his second.

“One Love” is officially out now on YouTube. This being the 3rd music video since “Villaination!” has released a month ago. The video is filmed by long-time friend Noah Mirro, with secondary filming by David Williams. John Anthony took to Instagram yeserday to announce the videos release with a few snap shots of the video, with scenes seemingly being shot in downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania with a big Wilkes-Barre sign in the background.

John Anthony signs it’s newest artist to Villainous Records, J Mont.

After appearing on 3 songs on John Anthony’s latest album, Villaination!, J Mont officially signs pen to paper to become the first outside musical addition to Villainous Records besides John himself. J Mont, real name Justin Montalvo, is a local independent hip hop artist from Kingston, PA. He has been rapping for about 2 years. We got a first taste of his skill-set in Villaination! as he was featured in Been That Real, Midnight Cypher and Look At My Life, which is set to release a music video for this song tomorrow Sat. March 5th at 2PM EST on YouTube.

Upon this announcement of the recent signing and the premiere of the Look At My Life music video, the first solo J Mont single has been released. A short freestyle called “The Kickoff” is officially available everywhere to stream online. A simple boom-bap beat, produced by John Anthony, is a simple introduction track, or kickoff so-to-speak, to the career of J Mont.

John Anthony and Villainous Records have finally posted the official artwork for John’s new album Villaination!. The cover features a newspaper theme, as expected, with texts along the side of the artwork. This cover seemingly confirmed the leaked artwork captured in a later John Anthony post on Instagram. The artwork also was inspired by Kurupt’s 1998 debut album “Kuruption!”, as it features an exact design as Kurupts. This isn’t the first time John has dedicated an artwork of his after a classic artists. John Anthony’s 2020 “Stereo EP” was  paid tribute to LL Cool J’s 1985 “Radio” album with almost identical artwork and John Anthony’s 2018 “Four Forty Four EP” paid tribute to King Tee’s 1990 “At Your Own Risk” album. “Villaination!” is just the latest artwork inspiration to John Anthony’s respect to the culture of hip hop.

Along with the cover, we also get our first look at the tracklisting for the project. The album will feature a staggering 22-tracks, along with variant features to artists. Some features that stick out are Yukmouth, who is one half of the classic hip hop duo, Luniz, and Bronze Nazareth who is a distant member of the legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan. An impressive cast of music to be excited for as we approach under 20 days left ‘til the release.

John Anthony finally announces a brand new album “Villaination!”.

After the past few days of speculating what the countdown posts where on John’s Instagram story, we finally get the answers as John Anthony has posted via. his Instagram the release of a new album coming.

“Villaination!” will be the 12th career studio project for John Anthony and the 8th studio project under Villainous Records since it’s creation back in 2019. John posted a 30 second teaser video to announce his album. The video kind of gives an idea to the theme of the album, which shows a more old-style newspaper article theme. The title of the album, Villaination, is comprised of Villain and Nation, which leads us wondering what exactly, or who exactly, does this Villaination represent?

Another observation that can be seen is in John Anthony’s Instagram caption for the teaser video, he states “Welcome to the final headline”, which leaves the thought of what that could exactly mean? Is this the last album? Is John Anthony done after this? Obviously, we are very early to be speculating the meaning of the album without  hearing a song from the album or even seeing what the artwork looks like, but according to John Anthony, we won’t have to wait that long as along with the announcement of the album, John has stated that a brand new song, likely a single from the album, is expected to drop THIS FRIDAY!

“Villaination!” is expected to release February 11th!
