The Martin Harley Band

The Martin Harley Band

Formed in 2002, The Martin Harley Band has achieved a lot in the last 5 years, and almost all of it on their own. Now comprised of Martin Harley (Guitars, Slide, Vocals), Graham Ross (Double Bass) and Pete Swatton (Drums, Balalaika) their latest album sees them explore new territory as well as more familiar.

"Grow Your Own" will be the title of the third full length album from the band, and it is something of a Jekyll and Hyde as records go. One clear half being the loud, groove infused, blues-rock that their live shows are renowned for, the other half being the thoughtful and introspective side of song-writer Martin Harley.

Recorded at One Life Studios during the latter half of 2007, in and around their busy gigging schedule and mastered by critically acclaimed mastering engineer Bob Katz, "Grow Your Own" sees the MHB use horns and string to embellish what is already a rich sound. The use of a cajon by Pete Swatton, and the first set of recordings to feature double bassist Graham Ross' unique style of playing. In amongst the new material, are also some established live favourites; the radically re-worked traditional "Nobodies Fault But Mine", and a full band version of "Blues At My Window", both of which capture the truly dynamic energy of the band.

With a whole host of new songs and sounds, "Grow Your Own" is sure to dazzle fans old and new alike.

"Grow Your Own" will be released on 7th April 2008 and will be available to buy from all major record stores and download services.
